A Controversial Restoration: the Palm House at Kew and its links to Bicton

Sue Minter, Chair of the Devon Gardens Trust will share with us her recently digitised slides from the historic 1980's restoration of the Palm House at Kew and will reveal its designed links to Bicton Park Botanical Gardens in Devon, the controversies the restoration invoked both in its structure and in its landscaping. Sue will look back after 30 years to see whether the choices made have stood the test of time given the recent chequered history of Kew.
